Ok, soooo. We've missed a lot. Christmas and New Years are both pretty big things to talk about so it's gonna take me awhile to get this blog actually published, being the huge procrastinator I am. I love it. Christmas was extremely fun, I was with my family the whole day and night and it was just wonderful. It was very different than christmas in the U.S., we did so much more! We ate so much food, and opened presents at midnight, fireworks, and went to friends houses to wish them a Merry Christmas and deliver presents. We ended up staying up until 6:30 in the morning, dancing with friends, drinking of course, and talking until the sun came up. It was honestly the best christmas I've ever had, no offense to any of my family...
New Years! This was also extremely fun, and since then we've actually been having parties almost every night.. It was almost the same as christmas minus the gifts, and we were more with everyone rather than just a small party. The parties since then have been mild, but really great, mostly with just family, and a few with friends, but sometimes they're better with family, it's more personal and they're just different somehow. I've been starting to have the best time in, Panama so far.. My spanish is getter much better and I've been making really good friends, I feel like I got through the hard part, and since I did, I realized what I was doing wrong and I fixed it somehow.

Oh, last night we also had a going away party for one of the exchange students who will be going away next week. Her name is Rose, and she's from Cleveland, Ohio! We're going to really miss her. :(

This blog is probably the most weird, scatterbrained blog yet. I really am not able to think right now. My cousin is watching every move I make as I write, and they're watching movies in the living room.. I'm just pretty distracted, but I'll try and get a better one up soon. With pictures! Finally.
That's honestly all I could think off as I wrote, I'll try and have a more planned blog next time! See you guys later! Loveeee, Raven

  1. I am so so happy you had such a great holiday. I know we have all experienced homesickness and it sucks to say the least, but also prevents you from really bonding with your new home. I know I was guilty of that when I studied abroad for the first time. (and now maybe you can understand why your dad and Cara have been so strict on you) But as soon as you get over it, your eyes open to all the opportunities available to you. And you are such a mature and fun loving girl, i knew it wouldn't take you long to transition into taking in everything around you. I loved this blog the most of all of them so far! I can totally see your excitement in your words!!! So so happy for you. Can't wait to read the next blog for sure. So now that your are a full blooded Panamaian student... What are your goals for 2010 before you have to leave???

  2. Few questions. Was Rose only on a sememster long AFS program? How does she feel about leaving? Do you think she wishes she were in Panama for a year? I bet you are so glad that you are not leaving yet. Do you feel that you are finally getting into the swing of things? I am sure your Spanish is really comming together quite well and that you understand all that is going on around you. Such an exciting time right now with the language. Now you can focus on building your vocabulary to articualte your thoughts and feelings.
As for the holidays so very interesting to hear their traditions. Somewhat the same as ours here in the USA but different at the same time.
I have to say that I love following your blog and reading about your next new adventure down there. Can you post pictures? I would love for you to take us on a photo tour of your house.
Keep up the good work we are so proud of you. Enjoy each day as if it were your last in Panama. Much love to you.
